March 2020 Roster

My top bid month and its a weird mix as I have twelve days of annual leave and also my ULR from the previous month went into March too, so it seems like I didn’t get much of a roster this month! However, in March I shall be going to…

AMS – Amsterdam, The Netherlands Layover
CPT – Cape Town, South Africa Layover
Normal Annual Leave
SFO – San Francisco, USA Layover

Kicking off the month is a layover to Amsterdam. I feel like I only just went here, but I was originally meant to be going to Venice in Italy. It was one of the only things I got out of my top bid month however with the increasing worries surrounding coronavirus I didn’t want to operate this flight especially with many countries having restrictions on entry if you have visited certain countries with a high coronavirus risk. And with my annual leave coming up I didn’t want this to impact my travel plans. So when someone sent me the swap for Amsterdam I happily accepted. Unsure, what I will get up to whilst I’m there though!

After this is a layover in one of my favourite cities which is Cape Town! It’s been a while since I was last there and I can’t wait to eat some good steak, drink a glass of South African red and explore somewhere new. I’m thinking to maybe hike up Lions Head!

After this it is FINALLY time for me to head away on leave, it’s been nine and a half months since I last had some leave and over ten months since I last went on holiday. For the first time in forever me and my family are heading away together to a brand new country for every single one of us which is Costa Rica! The excitement for this holiday is honestly through the roof and is a place I have wanted to visit for the longest time. There are so many things to see and do here and I can’t wait to explore for two whole weeks. With my sister studying abroad in the US and none of us overly keen to holiday there I began researching the best destinations for spring break and researching into the holiday. It isn’t an Emirates destination so I’ll actually be flying to Amsterdam where I will meet my Mum and Dad and we’ll then fly the 14 hours over to San Jose in Costa Rica with KLM and then shuttle up to Liberia on the west coast. Then my sister will fly in from Alabama the following day. I can’t wait to spend this time with my family and tick off country number seventy two and experience everything Costa Rica has to offer.

Ending the month is a trip to San Francisco in the US. A long one and one I would much rather swap so I will see what I get when the new rosters come out. And that wraps up March! Not much to share, but an exciting month for sure!
