July 2018 Roster

Rosters came early due to the way Eid fell within the month. So for all those celebrating I hope you had a wonderful Ramadan throughout the holy month, and Eid Mubarak to you all. Anyway, in the month of July I’ve been rostered for…

CMN – Casablanca, Morocco Layover
WAW – Warsaw, Poland Layover
Reserve

Kicking off the month with a layover in Casablanca. I’ve been here once before, and I’m not sure what else there is to do… if anyone has any tips please do let me know! But I’ve put it on the swaps page to see what I get offered.

After this is Warsaw in Poland. I’ve been here once before too, not overly eager to return so I’ve put it on the swaps page and will see what I can get. If not, they load chocolate covered strawberries in the crew cart so it’s always worth going for that.

And the last thing I’ve been given? The dreaded reserve. I don’t know any crew member from any airline who likes reserve. You can’t plan your sleep, you can’t plan your life and you have no idea where you’re going and who you’re going with. I haven’t had reserve since October 2016, so I was kind of expecting it with my bottom bid month and I’m happier that it starts mid month so I at least have a couple of flights to play around with.

For those of you that don’t know what reserve is, have a read of this post here, from where I explained my previous reserve month and what it had in store for me.

Fingers crossed for not only some nice destinations, but also some new destinations! And let’s see if I can potentially keep up my reserve streak of no turn arounds!? I won’t be holding my breath though… haha.

I’m also now on leave for two weeks with my best friends Chantelle and Grace so it will be a little silent over here on the blog, but stay posted for how I spend my two weeks!

  1. What is a “bottom bid month”?

    1. So we have 7 bid groups that we’re split into. 7th is bottom and 1st is top. On your bottom bod you’re likely for reserve or the lesser sought after flights, and top bid you can receive the more sought after destinations. Each month you move up a bid priority until you get to your top bud, and then you go back to the bottom again. Each month you can bid for 5 different things. Could be layover/turn around/days off/reserve/select days off. Hope that explains it a little more ☺️
