Our rosters arrived early this month but this wasn’t that much of a great thing as I am on reserve for the whole of October… for those of you who don’t know what that means it basically means I am on standby. So each night at 6pm, I will check my roster and it will be updated to either a flight, airport or home standby or a day off. I guess this is a little exciting as I find out what’s happening each day and it could be a nice surprise (I hope), but my family is also out visiting at the end of October and I don’t know if I’m going to be able to see them that much which is sad!
Ah well, it is all a part of the job and I was kind of expecting it after my top bid month last month, so fingers crossed for some good destinations and maybe a Manchester so I can pop home, as this will be a first for me not visiting home for a month!

With a bit of luck you will get some nice trips! I have 2 blocks of 3 days of standby next month, I hope that I at least get a few long t&b’s to try and break even, but a trip would be better 🙂

Usually happens around once a year, it’s after your top bid month however if you have leave you can manage to skip it like a lot of my friends have, however I haven’t got leave in October so I was expecting it a little but didn’t think it would actually happen haha. Oh well, it’s only a month and you never know where I could get pulled out for!
