I’ve just been home on my first “holiday” and I went to surprise my (not so) little sister for her 17th birthday! Which is why I haven’t mentioned it on any of my previous blogs even though I’ve been super excited to go home for the first time and had this booked since November!! As I was previously pulled off my flight to Hong Kong at the end of March I ended up with a Day Off, Airport Standby (where I wasn’t pulled out for a flight) and then another day off so I was able to go home a day earlier! I quickly checked the flights to Manchester which were sadly full but I managed to hop on a flight to Birmingham which landed at 6am and my mum and dad drove down to collect me from the airport as its only a 2 hour drive.
Here’s the moment I surprised my sister who was very annoyed she’d been woken up early until she saw me in case any of you hadn’t seen it…
I was also in for a surprise when I got home as my Mum had redecorated my whole room for me whilst I had been away! Not something I would have picked for myself, but I absolutely love it so well done Mum!
I then went round to both sets of grandparents to finally see them after a long 5 months which was so nice to be reunited with them and catch up and have lots of cuddles, cups of tea and chats.
On the Sunday Mum and Dad made an amazing Sunday Roast for all the family as I missed a Sunday dinner and so we could have all the family together again, which was super yummy.
The rest of the week mostly involved me eating out, catching up with friends, I went to visit my best friend at her university in Hull and going for Afternoon Tea. One of my best friends has also just got two new kittens so I made sure I went round to see them.
It also snowed twice whilst I was home which I wasn’t a fan of due to it being very cold but everything looked super pretty!
It was so lovely to see everyone again and to catch up and to also be back driving which I have missed so much! But after a lovely ten days it was time to head back to Dubai as sad as I was to leave, tomorrow I am flying to Brazil which I am super excited about!!!
